Summary of Job Duties:

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock's School of Art and Design is seeking to fill the position of Ceramics Instructor (tenure track) to begin in August of 2025. The successful candidate will teach ceramics, foundation courses, and will mentor students. They will have an active scholarship agenda, participate in recruitment, retention, special programs, and will engage in university service. Faculty teaching load is three studio courses per semester or the equivalent lecture courses.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

• MFA in Ceramics or related field.

 

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

• Demonstrated potential to teach introductory to advanced courses at the college level;
• Experience with various ceramics processes;
• Strong record of creative work, robust studio practice, and evidence of ongoing professional achievement including scholarship related to the position requirements;
• Experience and commitment to working with diverse populations of learners;
• Industry Experience.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate ceramics courses and other art courses including foundations and seminars as needed;
• Take a lead role in the ceramics program, including developing and maintaining ceramics studio equipment/resources, curriculum development, and budgeting;
• Perform academic service and affiliated duties as assigned;
• Maintain creative research and professional practice;
