Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Houston office. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player with ten plus years of experience. Coffman’s Houston Office offers a small firm work environment with large firm opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering for a variety of projects involving oil and gas facility engineering; refinery facility engineering; oil and gas pipelines; pumping and compressor systems; industrial control systems; instrumentation; and overseeing subcontractors and coordinating multifaceted multidiscipline projects. Candidates should have experience leading a multidiscipline team of engineers.

Qualifications

Requirements Include:

• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.); Texas (preferred) or ability to obtain one
• 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering relating to oil & gas, refining, and/or pipeline industries
• Ability to lead a multidiscipline engineering team
• Ability to provide peer review of electrical and control system designs
• Ability to write and edit technical engineering reports
• Experience with front end loading engineering process and programming
• Experience with oil and gas facility engineering tasks
• Experience with total installed cost development for electrical and control systems
• Experience with low and medium voltage electrical distribution system design and equipment layout
• Experience with instrumentation and control system design
• Possess knowledge of industry code including NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NFPA
• Performing specification of electrical equipment as required
• Reading and preparing project drawings including area classification, one-lines, and wiring diagrams
• Performing electrical system modelling, arc flash risk assessments, and electrical coordination studies using ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM software packages
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Traveling to provide support at job sites
