Description  

 

Cardiology Step Down units are now offering a $15,000 commitment bonus to Experienced RNs that’s new to Duke, must have one year or more experience! Cardiology Step Down unit 7300 and Cardiology Step Down unit 3200 at Duke University Hospital provides care for cardiology medicine patients with a range of diagnoses.  The patient population includes but is not limited to the care of acute coronary syndrome, post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, dysrhythmias, heart failure, heart transplant workups and congenital heart disease.   These patients require high acuity care and many come directly from the ICU, post procedures or outside hospitals requiring an increased level of care.  Many times, these patients encompass a multi-system involvement, which can include but is not limed to pulmonary, renal, endocrine and neurology.

Job Summary

 

As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a patient-centered atmosphere. The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients in guided by DUHS Professional Practice model participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects or other health related projects as assigned. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

 

Work Schedule:  3-12 hours shifts during orientation rotating shift, after oreitnation have the option of shift preference. 

 

Work Performed

 

Clinical Nurse will plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care. Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers. Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
