Production Supervisor - Weekend Shift

Dorman Products, a nearly $2B global supplier of aftermarket motor vehicle parts with 3,500+ Contributors and 28 sites across the globe, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our growing team in our Virginia Beach location - Powertrain Industries - on our weekend shift Friday - Sunday, 6:00AM-6:30PM. As a Production Supervisor in our brand new 100K sq ft facility, you will coordinate and oversee all production activities in an assigned department to ensure that customer commitments are met with quality and delivery. If you desire the freedom to pursue new ideas, offer different perspectives, and grow in your career, apply today!  

 

Primary Duties

• Review daily production schedule and ensure demands are met through proper scheduling of work  
• Provide leadership, communication, and expectations for technicians 
• Ensure technicians are trained and have appropriate tools to perform their job  
• Periodically review the work of technicians to ensure adherence to quality standards and work instructions.  Has authority to stop production to correct any quality problems.  
• Evaluate technicians' performance to achieve an elevated level of output through performance reviews and corrective actions    
• Reviews data and trends on production and recommend and implements continuous improvement activities 
• Ensure technicians are aware of and provided with proper protective equipment 
• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices   
• Participate in recruitment activities by interviewing and selecting staff  
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties that may be outside of assigned priorities.  
• Other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership qualities  
• Effective communication and reasoning skills  
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others  
• Strong organizational and analytical skills  
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methods  
• Broad knowledge of quality control and production methods  
• Microsoft Office and ERP experience 

Education and/or Experience

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment 
• 1+ years of supervisory experience preferred 
• Advanced education preferred
