Position Summary:
Work under general supervision of the Controller, the employee is responsible for all day-to-day administrative support to the Finance Department by assisting in coordinating financial and compliance activities, including but not limited to, attending meetings, staff education, travel and reporting; and maintaining schedules, files, contacts and reports for department staff. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Coordinate and maintain department staff calendars, phone calls, and related administrative duties.
•    Provide support to complete special projects as requested by the Controller.
•    Responsible for coordinating team meetings and taking meeting minutes.
•    Interact with both internal and external customer in a professional manner.
•    Coordinate all official communication and follow-up with supervisor and customers.
•    Comply with Sage Memorial Hospital’s code of ethics and professional code of conduct. 
•    Perform other duties as required. 

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to reach and grasp objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office with moderate noise level. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
•    High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
•    Six (6) months experience working in a business environment providing excellent customer service and clerical duties.
•    Must be fluent in the Navajo language.
•    Must be able to successfully pass the Employee Health Screen and background investigation.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
•    Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
•    Knowledge of procurement process.
•    Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
•    Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality.
•    Ability to be detail oriented to ensure accuracy. 
•    Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
•    Ability to coordinate a variety of projects and maintain accurate logs and records for all departmental activities.
•    Ability to speak the Navajo language and/or familiarity with the Navajo Way.
•    Ability to interpret applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
•    Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including working in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, presentation software (such as PowerPoint), and PC-based computerized accounting software.
