The Boeing Company is seeking a highly motivated, Experienced or Senior System Engineer to join the MH-139 Grey Wolf Engineering team in Ridley Park, PA. The successful candidate will lead engineering projects that interface with a complex network of internal and external stakeholders including customers, suppliers and airworthiness regulators to drive timely, compliant and successful execution of engineering work scope that ensures the continued airworthiness of the MH-139 helicopter.
The ideal candidate will have a background in systems engineering; experience in leading engineering projects for a US Department of Defense customer; experience with FAA and/or military airworthiness certification of aircraft (fixed wing or rotary wing). Experience working in an aircraft production, operations, maintenance and/or field service environment is also desired.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Experienced or Senior Engineer.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at of the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (see education and experience for the levels below)
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
3 or more years of related work experience in supporting, leading, and delegating responsibilities and tasks through all stages of a project life cycle.
3 or more years of experience in engineering.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (level 4)
Candidate must have demonstrated excellent performance in a team-oriented environment with internal, customer and supplier stakeholders.
Practical knowledge of the processes, procedures and airworthiness standards for the certification of aircraft. (e.g., Federal Aviation Authority [FAA] regulations, Military Airworthiness Standards).
Ability to assess type design data for showing compliance to airworthiness standards.
Strong background in safety and continued airworthiness; focused on technical excellence.
Must have strong interpersonal and analytical skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience developing supplier requirements and Statements of Work (SSOW).
Experience working in/with an aircraft production, operations, maintenance and/or field services environment.
Holds an FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P), Inspection Authorization (IA) and/or pilot’s certificates or military equivalent
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 3
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 4
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
