About the role

GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
We are seeking an experienced BAS Field Programmer/Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, programming, and installation of advanced Building Automation Systems. In this role, you will work closely with clients to create control system databases, program controllers, and ensure installations meet design standards. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships to support satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Prepare and provide control drawings to engineering and drafting teams.
  • Program and integrate systems into on-board microprocessors.
  • Conduct thorough testing and documentation to ensure program quality and compliance.
  • Partner with installation teams to review and verify proper wiring and device installation.
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues promptly to maintain smooth project execution.
  • Adhere to established departmental procedures and project management standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Building Automation Systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC control systems and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows environments, file structures, basic TCP/IP networking, and web navigation.
  • Familiarity with Visio preferred.
  • Experience with ALC Controls, Distech Controls, and Niagara certification (or other DDC controls).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Resourceful and proactive approach to meeting project goals.
