Job Summary

ACCO Brands is seeking a Sr. Manager, Project Management - PMO to join our team! This professional will oversee the Project Management Office, leading, mentoring, and managing a team of project managers. They will ensure the successful execution of projects across various business units within the organization, engage in strategic planning, portfolio analytics reporting, resource management, and implement best practices to achieve project goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, manage, and develop a team of project managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Develop and implement PMO practices, strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Participation in Portfolio Management Review meetings, providing analytics and KPI reports to leadership team.
  • Provide first class support to new product development and continuous improvement projects and teams.
  • Assume lead role on key project initiatives, utilizing program management skills to deliver products on cost, on time, on quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Compliance, Quality to meet required project metrics.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budgets.
  • Allocate resources effectively, including personnel and budgets, to support project success.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address potential issues.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, both horizontally and vertically, providing regular updates on project status and performance against metrics.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) to track project progress and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve PMO processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, engineering, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a PMO.
  • PMP, PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, Stage Gate or other relevant project management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet are required.
  • Familiarity with working in PLM/PDM systems is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP is desired.
  • Experience with Integrated Business Planning is a positive.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, and able to work in a fast-paced environment leading cross-functional teams in product development.
  • Experience working with domestic and offshore manufacturing suppliers is a plus.
  • 5-10% domestic & international travel required.

 

Salary Range:  $130,000 - $150,000
