Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located at State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. Bechtel is seeking a Lead Field Welding Engineer to join the Port Arthur LNG Project.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead, implement, and maintain global construction field welding programs and provide specialized welding engineering support. You will manage, inspect, and monitor the welding test lab, the rod room, the weld heat treatment program, and the laboratory quality plan. Your technical advice will help ensure defects, behaviors, and other issues are rectified prior to final inspection. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:

• Supports the Project Field Engineer and the Lead Field Welding engineer in implementing the site welding program on small projects Implements and maintains Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations.
• Provides technical assistance to field supervision and craft.  
• Provides support to ensure construction meets all code, specifications, and Bechtel procedures.
• Provies technical knowledge for ASME, API, and AWS or other code designed and fabricated items.  
• May coordinate rod room and rod room attendant to ensure all weld filler materials are controlled and meet Bechtel and Code requirements.
• Assists in the management of the NDE subcontract, including scheduling and coordination between construction and subcontractor.
• Coordinates with NDE subcontractor, supervision, and safety to ensure welds are accessible for NDE examination.
• Works with craft to maintain welding documentation and ensure the credibility/accountability of the Welding Program.
• Supports the field inspections of welding work to ensure workmanship and materials are in conformance with project requirements.  
• Implements the project quality program for welding.
• Responsible for maintaining NDE backlog for VT, PT, MT, and RT
• Implements weld inspection tracking system using TEAMWorks/WITS applications.  
• May be responsible for the implementation and coordination of subcontractors and direct hire Pre/PWHT program.

Education and Experience Requirements:
