DevSecOps Engineer

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as DevSecOps Engineer. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.
Successful candidates possess expert level knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex solutions as well as experience with migrations inclusive of a hybrid of public cloud and private cloud environments. This position will be customer-facing and consist of a variety of delivery of business transformation technology projects, as well as providing consulting services for next-generation infrastructure solutions and projects as they relate to cloud solutions. Ability to work on-site 4-5 days per week in Washington, DC. Active Top Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Working on-site with Federal customers on their requirements, understanding their current environment, and performing gap analysis.
• Testing and supporting a pilot of the services.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to both advise senior leadership, as well as provide a leadership role to engineers who are technically adapt as you are.
• Manage the continual operations and maintenance of systems operated in the Azure/AWS environment through the continual use of DevOps practices.
• Manage the migration of multiple systems from on-premises architectures to Azure based architectures leveraging Microsoft DevOps tool to deploy systems in an Azure/AWS environment.
• Manage the continual operations and maintenance of systems operated in the Azure/AWS environment through the continual use of DevOps practices.
• Directly interface with the client on a regular basis provide presentations from time to time.
• Producing well written, technical detailed articles (documents) that are tailored specifically to the customer’s environment, objectives and requirements.

Skills Required

• 5+ years of comparable experience.
• Current Microsoft Certification or be able to show proof of working towards obtaining one in the near future.
• Possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate efficiently and effectively. This includes both verbally as well as written communications with particular emphasis on being able to produce well written technical documentation.
• Able to work well with clients and team members of all levels.
