Your Role

The Occupational Health Nurse 4 is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of employees in the workplace. This role involves providing clinical care, managing work-related injuries and illnesses, implementing health promotion programs, and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations. The OHN works collaboratively with employees, management, Human Resources, and safety teams to create a safe and healthy work environment. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide initial assessment in the job injuries and illnesses and refers for further evaluation as necessary
  • Coordinate and provide for the appropriate care, treatment, and follow-up on work-related health events based on knowledge of the specific work environment
  • Assess acute nonoccupational illnesses occurring at work, determine a need for immediacy of treatment, and provide guidance to seek care from personal health providers
  • Perform health screening and health assessments, health surveillance testing including pulmonary function testing, vision screening and other testing as appropriate
  • Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of employee health information and employee health records
  • Develop and monitor the budget process to provide efficient and cost-effective occupational health nursing services
  • Collaborate with other members of the corporate occupational and environmental health and safety team, such as occupational medicine physicians, primary care providers, industrial hygienists, safety professionals, and human resource professionals to optimize worker health
  • Coordinate case management services for the individual worker to achieve optimal outcomes in a cost-effective manner
  • Coordinate and administer the Family and Medical Leave Act, Worker's Compensation, and the ADA with Millipore's applicable disability policies
  • Assist supervisors and employees with return-to-work issues including modified scheduling and job accommodations
  • Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education
  • Develop and provide education to employees using a variety of technologies such as but not limited to CPR/First Aid and bloodborne pathogen training
  • Shift/hours: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • 2+ years of experience in occupational health, emergency room, or urgent care settings


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
  • Broad knowledge of individual and group behavior, including employee relationships
  • Knowledge of occupational and environmental health, case management, government regulations, team process, computer processes and additional education appropriate to the work setting
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with all levels of management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Current knowledge of laws and regulations governing worker and worksite safety and health (i.e., OSHA, worker's compensation, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, etc.)
  • Ability to make independent nursing judgements

Salary Range for this position - $87,200-$130,800/annually

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
