Purpose of the Role:

Support Surety’s grow/transform technology investments (especially AI/digital initiatives) to deliver scalable solutions that meet Global Surety’s needs and priorities.

 

About the Role:

You will support our Surety grow/transform technology investments through discovery, design, and launch to enhance user experience and drive sustainable growth. You’ll collaborate to solve problems, devising solutions for our internal underwriting customers and our strategic broking partners. You’ll work in partnership with our Business Agility, Technology, Data science, Enterprise Architecture, Process and Change Management and other functions to help deliver  clean and easy-to-use functionalities and products which enhance user experience.

 

You will also support solutions post launch. Alongside Product Owners, you will take responsibility for ongoing improvement, ensuring enhancements are efficiently and effectively embedded across Global Surety and aligned with our business and digital strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as Surety’s planning lead for the GRS technology prioritization process, including the development of robust business cases, KPIs and measuring ROI, evolving approaches as needed to ensure investment in the right tools and resources
• Partner with Underwriting Support and Underwriting Operations to drive standard business processes as part of our technology builds
• Proactively identify and evaluate opportunities to embed emerging technologies, particularly generative AI, into our technology builds to transform business processes and create competitive advantages
• Coordinate with the Business architecture team to represent Global Surety as we stand-up and mature this new discipline
• Understand markets, competition, and user requirements in depth
• Ensure technology deliveries achieve the desired business outcomes, KPI’s and measures of success
• Work closely with Underwriting Support and Underwriting Operations, product owners, developers, designers, project managers, etc. to help design, develop and deliver customer centric market leading underwriting digital products. Track decisions, monitor deliveries to maintain business commitments, and escalate issues.
• Leverage knowledge of surety products to capitalize on opportunities and influence product related decisions
• Actively engage in forums that support the operations partnership with business agility and technology, ensuring engagement models are effective and delivering value. Surface opportunities, contribute to solutions and ensure we are continuously improving the way we work.

 

Skills and Experience:

• Industry or functional experience in insurance or surety and distribution
• Experience in defining, prioritizing and implementing AI and data driven solutions to deliver significant and measurable business value
• Track record of delivering technology enabled business change
• Experience working with Agile teams
• Strong project management capabilities
• Fluent English and one other language preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of experience
• Strategic mindset and ability to work cross functionally at a fast pace
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic initiatives
• Influencing without authority across a wide range of groups
• Advanced initiative management skills governance, influencing, problem solving, pace setting
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, utilizing the appropriate medium to align, influence, and drive clarity in ownership of key work - particularly across a complex internationally matrixed organization
• Quantitative skills with the ability to define and measure success of key initiatives against overall goals
