Position Overview:  The Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations combines clinical expertise with contemporary leadership practices aligned with the IU Health Way to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes. You will work closely with the unit manager to develop action plans focusing on quality and safety improvements, cost-effective care, and enhancing patient and team member experiences. You will lead the implementation of these plans and evaluate their effectiveness.As a key member of the interprofessional team, you will partner with the manager to foster an environment that empowers the team to excel in both patient and organizational outcomes. This role also involves advancing nursing practice by advocating for and modeling evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards.Note: The unit operates 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

 

Key Responsibilities:  
  • Collaborate with the unit manager to develop and implement action plans targeting quality and safety improvements.
  • Lead efforts to improve patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans and initiatives.
  • Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, professional development, and nursing excellence.
  • Support compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
  • Assist in addressing operational challenges during the shift, including weekends and nights as needed.

 

Qualifications:  
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Requires an active RN license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies according to patient care standards.
