Our paid time off accruals for annual and sick leave are as followed: 0-3 years of service = 2 hours of annual & sick per 40 hours worked; 3-9 years of service = 3 hours of annual & sick per 40 hours worked; 10 years or more of service = 4 hours of annual & sick per 40 hours worked. Position Summary:
Under the supervision of Tribal Administration, responsible for the organizational, financial, operational, and planning functions of Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center, which includes Medical Clinic, Public Health, Dental, Pharmacy, Business Office, and Health Information Management (HIM) department. All Nimkee Staff must adhere to mandated reporting laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Increase management's and staff effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers and administrative staff; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; integrating functional objectives; providing and participating in educational opportunities.
- Provide overall contract management for Nimkee health funding sources including, but not limited to: Indian Health Service, Inter-Tribal council of Michigan, State of Michigan, Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, private foundations and grants.
- Analyze and provide updates on legislative, regulatory, policy and other industry changes.
- Develop and maintain an organization structure for the Health Departments to meet the service needs of the tribal community.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all contracts, grants, and other funding agreements including report obligations.
- Represent Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center and the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan in interactions with the tribal community, city, county, state, regional, and national agencies; promote positive working relationships with all of the above.
- Ensure that the tribal community is kept informed on policies and procedures related to health care services and issues impacting the tribal community.
- Submit article(s) to the Tribal Observer when changes and updates affect patient care.
- Prepare and present an annual report to Tribal Council, Tribal Administration and tribal community.
- Provide overall coordination of budget planning, preparation, justification, monitoring, modification, and reporting.
- Work with Nimkee Memorial Wellness leadership team and Tribal Accounting Department to ensure all financial obligations are met.
