BWXT's Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking an Element Manufacturing Operations (EMO) Manufacturing Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

The EMO Manufacturing Specialist supports multiple work areas within Element Manufacturing Operations.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Provides daily technical support for the shop floor.
• Creates equipment specifications and purchase requisitions.
• Oversees and manages equipment installation/refurbishment projects.
• Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on operation and troubleshooting of area equipment.
• Uses software tools to implement improvements to improve the efficiency and productivity of the work area.
• Creates and/or revises operational procedures.
• Supports startup testing, training, and qualifications of operations personnel.
• Supports Engineers, maintenance, and management in troubleshooting of equipment or process-related issues.
• Identifies and implements solutions for safety issues in the process, operations, and/or equipment.
• Performs root cause analysis through the corrective action program and implements solutions to prevent recurrence of equipment or process issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus ten (10) years of relevant experience.
• Must possess previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience with management of equipment installation or upgrades desired.
• Must have demonstrable technical/critical thinking skills.
• Must be highly self-motivated and goal oriented, with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
