<strong>Role Overview:</strong><br>We are seeking a highly accurate and experienced Legal Bookkeeper with 3+ years experience to handle critical accounting tasks related to client settlements. This individual will also support general administrative and operational duties as needed. The right candidate will be dependable, highly organized, and skilled at managing complex financial data with confidentiality and integrity.<br><br>

<strong>Key Responsibilities:<br></strong><br>

<li>Prepare and issue checks for client settlements, including disbursements and medical payments.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Maintain and reconcile client trust and escrow accounts in strict compliance with legal and ethical standards.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Handle accounts payable processes and ensure timely, accurate payments.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Accurately record and categorize all financial transactions related to client settlements.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Assist with general bookkeeping tasks, reporting, and audit preparation.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Support the office with additional duties such as filing, document handling,  or other administrative needs.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Collaborate with attorneys and team members to ensure smooth financial operations.<br><br>

<strong>Qualifications:<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or 5+ years of experience. <br><br>
</li>
<li>Direct experience with <strong>payables</strong>, <strong>escrow</strong>, or <strong>trust accounts</strong> is <strong>required</strong>.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Strong <strong>mathematical skills</strong> and a commitment to <strong>accuracy</strong>.<br><br>
</li>
<li>High proficiency in <strong>Microsoft Excel</strong>, including formulas, pivot tables, and spreadsheets.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Ability to <strong>maintain strict confidentiality</strong> of financial and client information.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).<br><br>
</li>
<li>Deep understanding of trust accounting practices and compliance regulations.<br><br>
</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, high integrity, and the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.<br><br>
