Meet the Team
Splunk Platform Strategy team sits at the center of Cisco and Splunk's combined data and AI strategy, turning one of the largest machine data estates in the industry into products customers trust to run their most critical operations. A senior, tight-knit group of product leaders working shoulder to shoulder with engineering, design, and research inside a product organization of more than 100 people. High ownership and low ego, with a bias toward sharp opinions, fast iteration, and decisions that hold up over multiple years rather than a single release
The Senior Director, Product Strategy, Splunk Platform, builds the foundational data platform and substrate, AI services, and shared capabilities that power Splunk's Security and Observability businesses across cloud and enterprise
Your Impact
Design a future-proof substrate: Set the three-to-five-year product vision and strategy for the platform and its AI capabilities, starting from customer outcomes and working backward to build a substrate that powers Splunk and Cisco into the future.
Prioritize the portfolio: Make hard trade-offs across contending investments to ensure the organization funds what matters most and retires what no longer moves the business. Develop a sharp, defensible point of view on the AI market, including agentic and LLM trends, to guide where the platform should lead, fast-follow, or partner.
Partner for revenue: Partner with GTM, finance, and product marketing on pricing, packaging, and adoption paths so the strategy translates into tangible revenue rather than roadmap slides. Align leadership around a clear multi-year direction that engineering can implement and customers can actually adopt.
Architect the "Agentic" Platform: Accelerate the transition of the Splunk platform from a data-storage substrate to an intelligent, agentic engine. Define the roadmap for how we integrate LLMs and autonomous workflows to enable customers to solve complex security and observability incidents with unprecedented speed and precision.
Drive Cross-Portfolio Alignment: Lead the strategic integration of the Splunk platform into Cisco’s core networking and cloud control infrastructure (e.g., Nexus, SD-WAN, Meraki). Create a unified data fabric that allows Cisco’s massive customer base to ingest and act on telemetry across the entire network, creating a competitive moat that pure-play competitors cannot match.
Bridge the On-Prem to Cloud Gap: Navigate the business complexities of a hybrid-cloud world by building a strategy that brings modern, cloud-native parity to our substantial on-premises customer base. Ensure a seamless transition path that reduces churn and drives long-term platform stickiness for our most critical enterprise accounts.
Lead an Engineering-First Product Culture: Serve as the primary technical interface between product and engineering. Leverage your deep technical fluency in Kubernetes, data architecture, and modern AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to ensure that the platform strategy is grounded in architectural feasibility, operational excellence, and high-velocity code delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent industry experience.
10+ years of engineering management, product management or product strategy experience for software or platform products.
Proven experience in defining multi-year product vision and roadmaps for cloud and enterprise software preferably in a platform environment.
3+ years working directly with AI/ML or data platform products, with deep technical fluency in how these systems are built and operated.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or MBA or equivalent industry experience.
Consistent track record of managing high-revenue, multibillion dollar ARR product lines, with a demonstrated ability to scale platforms across diverse customer segments.
Deep understanding of the architectural challenges associated with bridging on-premises legacy data estates with modern cloud-native, SaaS-based architectures.
