Legal Counsel (f/m/d) fully qualified lawyer

Your task:
As a Legal Counsel/fully qualified lawyer you will be part of a team of 13 lawyers supporting the various business departments within the EEX Group regarding the legal requirements that may arise in the context of being an internationally operating group (with various exchanges and clearing houses). Within a team of colleagues your main focus of your work will be the legal support for the clearing house European Commodity Clearing AG, the banking subsidiary of EEX. This includes for example:
- Maintenance and further development of the rules and regulations of the clearing house
- Negotiation of contracts in German and English
- Communication with domestic and foreign supervisory authorities in regulatory matters
- Admission of foreign and domestic trading participants and clearing banks
- Participation in consultations and active monitoring of legal developments in the field of commodity and commodity derivatives clearing
- Exchange with colleagues from various departments and providing advice on clearing related matters in general civil law, insolvency law and banking law
As part of the team, you will be able to deepen your current knowledge on any banking related legal aspects, so that topics like EMIR, German Banking Act, foreign financial regulations are becoming your field of expertise. We are happy to support you with further trainings in this area. After all, we value the joint development of ideas, encouraging and supporting each other to further develop professionally and personally within the legal team and with other areas within EEX and Deutsche Börse Group.
You bring along:
- Completed degree in the studies of law (fully qualified lawyer or comparable)
- Professional experience or knowledge and a keen interest in national and European banking law, specialisation for clearing is highly appreciated but not a requirement
- Willingness to deepen your knowledge in these and other fields of law, e.g., exchange or financial markets law
- Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts in English and German
- Interest in and commitment to professional development / participation in trainings
- Independent, open-minded, precise, and solution-oriented way of working within a team and across departments
- Fluent communication and presentation skills in English (written and spoken)
- Other foreign languages are welcome
