Job Description
Function characteristic
The SDET develops and maintain the automated tests framework and writes test scenarios to detect defects as early as possible for both functional and non-functional requirements. Testing is preferably done by automation but also manually. The SDET produces Clean Code, designs and implements Clean tests and works in Agile teams according to Agile principles.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Develop and maintain C# test framework to support automatic testing of the Software Under Test (SUT);
- Develop and write test cases in Gherkin and glue code to test against the specifications;
- Apply Clean Code principles to all development;
- Typically addressing tests of Q2, Q3 and Q4 in the Agile Testing Quadrants;
- Decide on which tests to automate;
- Determine which tests to execute when, e.g. daily or per release;
- Ensure smooth operation of testing like e.g. daily testing, exploratory testing and release testing;
- Reports test results;
- Submitting defects of failing test cases.
Qualifications
Main experience required
- Experience in programming in C#, Java;
- Experience in using frameworks like Cucumber; Specflow; Selenium; Playright;
- Experience in writing functional tests such as black-box tests and non-functional tests such as load, scalability and security;
- Experience with Cloud testing (Azure, AWS);
- Experience in using happy flows, alternative flows and sad flows;
- Experience in critical and creative exploratory testing;
- Experience in Configuration Management tools like e.g. Subversion, Git.
Necessary know how / skills
- University education in computer or software science at Bachelor level or higher;
- Specific knowledge of test technologies like e.g. boundary testing and equivalence partitioning;
- Knowledge of main programming/scripting languages like e.g. C#, Python;
- Familiar with the Agile Testing Quadrants;
- Intelligent, abstract, analytical and creative thinker;
- Has a strong drive to produce Clean Code.
