About the role

Description

General Kinematics Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time MRO Buyer to support our maintenance team. The MRO Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the inventory of maintenance, repair, and operations supplies. This role ensures that the maintenance team has the necessary materials and tools to perform their tasks efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining high levels of productivity.

  

Key Responsibilities:

- Procurement: Source and purchase MRO supplies, including tools, spare parts, consumables, and equipment.

- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring timely replenishment of critical items.

- Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.

- Order Processing: Process purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.

- Cost Management: Monitor and control procurement costs, seeking opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.

- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier information.

- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

- Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team to understand their needs and priorities, and provide timely support.

- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to MRO supplies, including discrepancies, delays, and quality concerns.


Requirements

  

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in supply chain management, procurement, or related field is a plus.

- Experience: Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.


Skills: 

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and procurement software.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
