General Purpose:
The Security Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of all security functions across Cornerstone Family Healthcare’s multiple sites. This role ensures the protection of patients, staff, visitors, facilities, and organizational assets through the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive security programs and risk management practices.
The Security Manager provides direct supervision of internal security personnel and oversight of contracted security services, ensuring consistent coverage and high standards of professionalism across all locations. This position serves as the organization’s primary authority on security operations, incident response, access control, surveillance systems, emergency preparedness coordination, and security risk mitigation.
- Oversee daily security operations, including supervision of Cornerstone security officers as well as oversight of contracted security staff.
- Ensure coverage of all required shifts and oversee the employees’ work activity during shifts.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents. alarms, and emergencies, ensuring the appropriate escalation and documentation. Report any major incidents to the Director of Facilities and communicate with the site administrator as necessary.
- Act as the main point of contact between Cornerstone and the contracted security vendor which includes review of security staff schedules, monitoring and oversight of operations, orienting new staff to CFH expectations, and notifying vendors of any inconsistencies.
- Coordinate communication, maintenance, and issue resolution related to the security camera system with external vendor.
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader promoting safety and security awareness across the organization, as well as supporting HR in difficult employee relation situations.
- Assist security guards on calls related to disturbances within and outside the building during working hours and document any incidents or occurrences as per CFH protocol.
- Respond to any after-hour alerts from alarm system vendors.
- Conduct regular briefings, staff development activities, and annual performance evaluations, and organize security training programs, including active shooter preparedness and response.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and security audits across all Cornerstone locations. Implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Recruit, train, and develop security personnel to uphold high standards of professionalism and patient centered service.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone family healthcare policy and procedure.
- Maintain all keys for the buildings and a log of employee possession, including security access codes and panic buttons.
- Participate in safety committee meetings.
- Attend and participate in monthly department, all staff, and other required meetings.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone Family Healthcare Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone Family Healthcare including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financial, and employee relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
