Senior Associate Project Manager, Strategy & Operations
Our Strategy & Operations team within Commercial Credit Risk & Analytics (CR&A) and Counterparty Risk Group (CRG) is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our growing team. Capital One’s Strategy & Operations team is a second line of defense function housed within CR&A / CRG. The second line function provides risk expertise, effective challenge, and governance and oversight for the lending activities in Commercial segments, delivering best-in-class risk advice to enable sound decision-making. Our Strategy & Operations team is critical in creating operational leverage for the organization and cultivating positive associate experiences.
In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and contribute to impactful results for our department and the Commercial Bank. This role offers significant professional growth potential and exposure to senior management. We're looking for a candidate who can effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and adaptability in an agile environment are crucial. The ability to take initiative and problem solve is highly valued.
Specific responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
Support medium to large-scale projects that impact our department and the Commercial Bank
Plan, design, manage, and execute project plans to ensure delivery
Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
Maintain key project documentation
Conduct regular meetings with project teams, document progress, and report project status to stakeholders
Partner with stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical feedback to effectively drive project delivery
Identify ways to continually improve and streamline our processes
Formulate and implement solutions, leveraging technology as much as possible

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 2 years of Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
Experience in Financial Services
Project Management Certification , Lean, Agile, Scrum Master or Six Sigma certification
Work experience achieving results with complex projects
Understanding commercial banking activities and the three lines of defense framework
Knowledge and experience using Google Suite or Snowflake

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Project Manager
