Position Summary

Manage and facilitate daily production and quality within contracted facility; meet the customer’s expectations by managing activities and complying with contractual obligations.  Provide support, training and communication to SPD management and personnel.  Perform duties related to training and education for Clinical Operation’s Managers, including; coaching, mentoring, and administrative organization. Participate in outsourcing implementations as directed. Ensure SPD compliance with the Department of Health, JCAHO, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards and facility policies and procedures. $7500.00 sign on bonus.

Duties

  • Demonstrates complete understanding of central sterile processing management and minimally invasive surgery processes and the ability to manage, train and implement in a contracted facility.
  • Enforces the implementation of STERIS Standard Operating Procedures, new processes and/or procedures, product conversions, new services and programs in conjunction with the contract and STERIS to improve efficiencies.
  • Implements an efficient means of communicating with contracted facility, STERIS employees, and STERIS management to ensure quality. Conducts weekly meetings with contracted facility management to provide timely updates of project objectives and barriers.  Conducts monthly meetings with STERIS employees or more often as needed. 
  • Collaborates with STERIS resources as necessary to provide additional or targeted training (i.e., DSPW and STERIS Business Center). Travels when necessary to complete this task.
  • Participates in and uses evidence-based research for improving training and development for all Clinical Operations Managers.
  • Interviews, hires, and assists with training; coaches and disciplines employees to meet company objectives and customer requirements. Directly manages personnel of contracted facility if outsourced.

  • Reviews/updates the project plan weekly to ensure target dates are met and barriers identified.
  • Abides by all STERIS and contracted facility safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional relationships with all contracted facilities departments as necessary and within contractual guidelines to ensure effective, efficient support to the patient caregivers as it relates to the scope of the contract.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the facility contract and the project plan. 
  • Mentors, educates, and assists in training of management staff in all aspects of contracted services. Conducts employee assessments to obtain baseline knowledge level to identify opportunities for education/training and improving SPD processes.
  • Operates facility within budget as specified in contract and initial performance statements; maintains systems for the preservation of STERIS and customer resources such as surgical instrumentation.
  • Resolves STERIS and customer issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Tracks contracted facility productivity and provides statistical reports to STERIS and customer as necessary.

  • Ensures proper operational processes are followed by all members of the STERIS team in conjunction with the Department of Health JCAHO, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN standards and facilities goals and policies.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of all administrative documents and functions (time records, count sheets, inventories, billing, etc.) required by the contracted facility and STERIS Corporate.
  • Ensures proper training of STERIS employees.  Ensures that monthly in-service programs are being conducted and documented.
  • Ensures appropriate STERIS coverage at the facility.
  • Models behavior that is appropriate for affiliation with each facility and STERIS.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of leadership experience in sterile processing, peri operative service, manufacturing, operations, or field service organizations or High School Diploma and 16+ years of leadership experience in sterile processing,peri operative service, manufacturing, operations, or field service organizations
  2. Supervision and coordination of SPD team including coordinators and technicians at the assigned facilities. Supervisory responsibilities related to training/education of Clinical Operations Managers.
  3. Experience with process improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)
