Job Duties

The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service to training participants and staff while ensuring the effective preparation, presentation, and service of meals within a comprehensive food service operation. This role is responsible for training and supervising inmates in all aspects of food production, while maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and security standards through appropriate oversight of assigned inmate workers.

In addition, the position manages the ordering and receiving of food products, equipment, and supplies, while maintaining accurate inventory controls. Responsibilities also include coordinating and executing food catering setups for conferences and large-scale events, ensuring high-quality food presentation, and maintaining organized, professional dining and service areas.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of large volume food operations, sanitation, and safety standards. Knowledge of food storage and inventory methods. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Working knowledge of menu planning and ability to prepare nutritional meals. Skilled in the operation of food service equipment. Ability to supervise staff and/or inmate workers. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to include outlook.

Additional Considerations

Advance Knowledge Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, cost controls and operating and repairing food service equipment. ServSafe certification. Experience in Food Service operations or dietary management. Food Service experience working in a correctional, educational, hospital or similar environment.
