Position Details:

The Jim Krueger laboratory is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in a neuroscience sleep research laboratory specifically studying affects of stress and inflammation on sleep. The applicant is expected to perform several duties in the lab, including but not limited to experimental design, data collection, analysis and interpretation, writing manuscripts, presenting in lab meetings, and attending/presenting the lab research at national and international conferences. This position will be managing the day to day lab as well as leading undergraduate students. We seek applicants with demonstrated scientific independence, mentoring experience, and laboratory management. The successful applicant will have earned a PhD in biology, neuroscience, molecular bioscience or a related field. Fluent written and spoken English is required. The successful applicant will be dedicated, self-motivated, and a good team player.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100%) temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.

Temporary End Date:

This is a temporary position expected to end on December 31, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

Annual Salary:

$62,232 - $67,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:

  • Earned PhD in biology, neuroscience, molecular science or a related field

  • Fluent written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated scientific independence, mentoring experience, and laboratory management
