We are currently seeking to hire an Electronic Warfare (EW) Manager for our Primary Training Range (PTR) site at Melrose Air Force Range (MAFR) near Clovis, NM to ensure all electronic warfare systems, battlefield effects, and associated equipment are operational, compliant, scheduled, and capable of supporting mission requirements.


This PTR accommodates multiple types of air-to-surface, surface to air, and ground training and is 70,010 acres and contains target arrays, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) sites, landing zones, dudded and inert impact areas, threat simulators, weapons scoring systems, and provides Service Class A and C range capabilities. We support DoD and non-interfering civilian agency training requirements, providing operations and maintenance to meet war-fighter training and readiness requirements. We provide support for facility maintenance, aerial gunnery and bombing ranges, ground training ranges, MOUT sites, electronics / technology, scheduling, wildland fire management, paramedic, and Situational Force (SITFOR), to include all operations, maintenance and support (OM&S). Our site consists of an Electronic Warfare Range (EWR), air and ground ranges, ground training facilities, and administrative facilities.


In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all Electronic Warfare capabilities are operational, maintained, and mission-ready, directly impacting training effectiveness operations performance. This role serves as the central authority for EW system readiness, personnel oversight, and mission integration.

  

The EW Manager provides oversight of all EW systems to include, but not limited to:

  • MUTES / Mini-MUTES (note: Mini-MUTES off-range) 
  • RWR LITE 
  • TRTG 
  • BCSS 
  • RIIS 
  • Radios 
  • Associated EW and battlefield effects systems 

The EW Manager reports to Site Management / Government Oversight (GOF) / Range Management Office (RMO) and provides direct supervision of EW Technicians and the EW Maintenance Lead (if one is assigned). The EW Manager has the authority to prioritize EW system support based on mission requirements, recommend system availability status and elevate resource constraints, downtime, and risk to mission execution. There will need to be coordination between the EW Manager, Range Control Officers (RCOs), the maintenance lead, Supply Logistics and the Facility Manager (as required for infrastructure support).

  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Oversee all EW operations and maintenance activities in support of training missions.
  • Ensure all EW systems are configured to mission requirements and are operational and available. 
  • Manage scheduling and prioritization of EW support based on mission tempo.
  • Oversee system power-up / operational checks, preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, corrective maintenance actions and system troubleshooting and repair efforts.
  • Ensure battlefield effects systems are available for training realism (sites, sounds, smells,       atmospherics as applicable) 
  • Provide operational oversight of ground electronic targets, instrumented training systems and EW emitters and associated systems.

Additional critical functions of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintenance and System Readiness
    • Validate PM completion rates, break/fix response timelines, and parts requirements and shortages.
    • Coordinate with Supply Logistics for parts procurement and DLA RTD tracking (when applicable).
  • Mission Support Operations
    • Prioritize EW assets based on mission requirements, available manpower and equipment availability.
    • Ensure systems are prepared for pre-mission operational checks, real-time miss
