We are seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to work in our Williston, VT office on roadway and transportation design projects with an impressive team of skilled engineers.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, the Senior Transportation Engineer will lead complex highway and roadway design, including preparation of conceptual design studies, preliminary and final design construction documents. Projects will include roadway reconstruction and paving rehabilitation, signalized intersections and roundabouts, right-of-way acquisition plans, multi-modal design, and more!

This professional will provide day to day supervision of project staff, including supporting their professional growth and technical mentoring. In addition, they will assist with proposal development and be responsible for client communications and maintaining client relationships. They will also be responsible for working within established budgets and timelines, as well as maintaining the high standards of work we produce through our Quality Assurance/Quality Control process.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Typically requires at least 8 years of experience in highway engineering and roadway design including preparation of plans, profiles, cross sections, grading, utility, drainage design, engineers’ opinion of probable cost and construction specifications
  • Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine P.E. is required (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
  • Experience with MicroStation/Connect, InRoads/OpenRoads is preferred; AutoCAD and Civil3D a plus
  • Experience with VTrans, NHDOT or MaineDOT project design requirements and plan preparation guidelines preferred
  • Full-time schedule preferred, Part-time schedule considered
