About the role
Overview
This professional is a key member of the Enterprise Analytics Health Economics team (Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation). CORE's mission is to identify opportunities that improve patient outcomes, care delivery and reduce cost of care. The Health Economics analyst will conduct program evaluations and/or identify opportunities that improve patient outcomes and reduce the cost of care. In addition, they will be able to communicate with clinical providers and understand the technical aspects of clinical care. The position is highly demanding with rapid project turn-over but offers a rewarding experience to transform clinical care at the bedside. Advanced statistical methods are required to tease out the impact of clinical care in a complex environment. Quasi-experimental methods, survival analyses, and econometrics are used most frequently to answer complex clinical questions.
Responsibilities
- Performs data extraction and cleaning of complex healthcare data.
- Uses advanced analytics to assess the impact of interventions on cost of care, length of stay, readmissions, and other health outcomes.
- Communicates results to stakeholders.
- Works on multidisciplinary teams to achieve goals of care.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:Required:PhD in any of the following:Health Economics, Health Policy, BiostatisticsPreferred:Econometrics and program evaluation expertise
EXPERIENCE:Required:6 months-1 year working in a clinical environment or understanding of clinical care provided in ambulatory, acute and outpatient settings.Preferred:2-years experience in a healthcare environment.
