Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance  


Work Schedule: Onsite Daily with up to 20% OCONUS travel. 


Role Overview:

Primary duties will be executed out of our Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland location. You will lead a team of CONUS and OCONUS logistics professionals that oversee the daily conduct of receipt, inspection, sorting, shipping, storage, and management of inventory equipment. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of logistics strategies and plans to optimize transportation, inventory management, and distribution operations. You will manage logistics professionals to ensure the timely and accurate processing of shipments, including documentation, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and delivery.

  • Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed 

Specific Skillset

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, carriers, and customers, to ensure effective and efficient logistics operations. 
  • Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. 
  • Manage logistics budgets and negotiate contracts with logistics service providers to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
  • Develop and maintain logistics policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a system for tracking inventory levels, including regular inventory counts and reconciliation against procurement, shipping, and maintenance data.
  • Provide regular reports on logistics performance and work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Proficiency in logistics software and technology.
  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.
  • Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel tolerate hot or cold environments 


Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in logistics, business, or a related field is preferred
  • Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) is preferred

Experience Requirements 

  • 10+ years of logistics management experience.
  • Asset Tracking Experience.
  • Commercial shipping experience.
  • US Department of Defense shipping & logistics experience.
