Data Migration Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Developer to join our team for a nearshoring opportunity with a leading telco in Sweden. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PL/SQL scripting, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and hands-on experience with data migration projects. Additionally, familiarity with AWS services and technologies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop data migration scripts and processes using PL/SQL to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of data.

2. Implement ETL processes to cleanse, transform, and validate data as part of the migration process.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and source/target systems.

4. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and ETL workflows.

5. Create and maintain documentation for data migration processes, including data mappings and transformation rules.

6. Participate in testing and execute the actual migration as part of the cutover process.

7. Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the migration process by performing data validation and reconciliation activities.

8. Utilize AWS services and tools, such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Migration Service, or Amazon Redshift, to facilitate data migration and integration tasks.

9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data migration, including data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system errors.

10. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data migration, ETL development, and cloud computing to enhance skills and knowledge.

11. Participate in peer code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and cross-training activities to foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Data Migration Developer or similar role, with a strong background in PL/SQL scripting and ETL development.

3. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data manipulation and transformation.

4. Hands-on experience with data migration projects, including data extraction, cleansing, and loading activities.

5. Familiarity with AWS cloud services and tools, such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Migration Service, Amazon Redshift, or similar technologies.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.

7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

8. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions within established timelines.

9. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies is a plus.

10. Certification in AWS or relevant technologies is desirable but not required.
