A Day in the Life
As the Facilities Maintenance Technician you will do Maintenance and HVAC for our Northridge, CA Site.This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves, refrigerators, freezers
Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
Use hand and power tools.
Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.
Perform general building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, etc.
Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Be on an on-call rotation for emergencies and off hours work.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Nice to Have
Experience with BAS systems
HVAC or electrical trade school certification preferred
Ability to use multi meter to troubleshoot incoming power and low voltage controls
EPA universal certification
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Familiar with chiller plant/cooling tower operation and water treatment
Experience working in cleanroom environment
