About the job posting:
- Filling for two positions.
- This is a 12-month, 40-hour per week position. (Note: There may be schedule flexibility for less than 12 months and/or 40 hours, determined by business needs.) Schedule to be discussed during interview.
- This position is eligible for a hybrid flexible work arrangement (FWA). FWAs are subject to approval and may shift to meet business needs.
- This position works in the University Health Services (UHS) medical clinics.
Note: List of references must be professional and include one current or previous supervisor.
Purpose
Provide medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, and education to patients with acute or chronic conditions in University Health Services medical clinics.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Responsibilities: Provides individual nutrition assessments, develops treatment plans, and provides individual nutrition consultations for UT Austin students, using standardized medical nutrition therapy protocols, taking into account client’s individual characteristics that impact their needs.
- Business Responsibilities: Maintains working knowledge of billing procedures. Documents accurately in the electronic health record according to UHS and applicable regulatory agencies policies, regulations and guidelines.
- Professional Development: Participates in continuing education activities that enhance the delivery of medical nutrition therapy as necessary or requested by UHS administration.
- Participates in other projects and activities as appropriate and assigned
- Exhibits professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in all aspects of work
- Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree of science in nutrition, dietetics, or similar course of study
- Two years of experience providing clinical nutrition consultations
- Must be a registered dietitian and a licensed dietitian in the State of Texas
- Demonstrated communication skills that contribute to effective collaboration among diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a non-judgmental perspective
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field
- More than two years of experience providing clinical consultations for clients with eating disorders
- Experience working as part of an eating disorder treatment team
- Two or more years of experience providing nutrition assessment and nutrition therapy for college students
- Demonstrated ability to provide rapid, thorough nutrition assessments
- Experience using motivational interviewing and other counseling techniques, mindful and intuitive eating principles, and a patient-centered weight-neutral treatment approach
- Extensive knowledge of current and emerging college health issues related
