What are we looking for?
The primary responsibility of the Director, Product Strategy & Analytics, will be to lead efforts leveraging analytics from multiple sources to develop comprehensive data analysis packages across market segments and business units to drive local market insights and targeted growth strategies. This position will work closely with sales directors and underwriting leads, and will partner with finance, reporting, marketing, and strategy to build out business plans and strategies to accelerate profitable growth for the business, tailoring those plans by business unit, market segment, and distribution channel to best meet the needs of those markets. These insights will also be used to develop organization objectives and key results (OKRs) for the product, as well as measure progress against those OKRs over time. This includes trend analysis and root cause drivers for over/under performance vs. targets. Market insights and strategies will also guide annual planning processes and help feed the product development pipeline. This position is new role reporting directly to the AVP, Product Strategy & Analytics.
Where you will have an impact
• Consolidate market specific data from multiple sources
• Interpret data and analyze results to provide ongoing insights to inform strategies and growth opportunities.
• Build comprehensive data packages, leveraging data visualization models and storytelling, to develop insights and drive creative dialogue in market
• Work with finance and reporting teams to streamline data collection methods to enable data consolidation efficiently.
• Collaborate with sales, underwriting, finance, strategy, and product teams to develop data-driven and scalable growth strategies
• Understand challenges and barriers to accelerating growth in market and work with key partners to remediate – can include partnering with product to prioritize product development initiatives.
• Support the development of business cases related to product enhancements, new product services and capabilities, and growth initiatives.
• Develop strong relationships with key internal Versant Health and MetLife group partners (sales, marketing, distribution, product, finance, technology, etc.) as well as key marketplace partners (customers and brokers).
• Monitor and interpret market and competitive intelligence to understand opportunities, risks, and other implications for product strategies and analysis.
• Support analytics and insights on vision product performance
• Provide ongoing reporting and analytics updates
What’s necessary to do the job?
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; higher-level degree MBA/MS a big plus.
• 10 years of experience in the insurance marketplace.
• Demonstrated history of data analytics.
• Previous responsibility in leading market segment and product strategies.
• Proven experience in delivery of business drivers and financial performance measures.
• Knowledge / experience with supported products, market, industry, and business intelligence.
• Strong communication and presentation skills resulting in positive business outcomes internally and externally.
• Experience communicating and interacting with members of the Executive Leadership to provide updates on data analytics, business intelligence, and strategic initiatives.
