Vacancy detail

Task requirements   VeRR Post 90 days. 1. Oversight of Senior Succession Planning. 2. Manage Risks and Issues in the Succession pipeline and develop strategies to address R&I pan-Defence, working with profession leads to maximise the candidate pool.
3. From SAC direction develop the 3-5 year senior appointing strategy for under-represented groups.
4. Coordination and BAU delivery of the digital grading process for OF5 and above.
5. Develop the approach and plan for external horizon scanning to understand and address market equivalence to aid retention for Senior Talent Pipeline, for both generalists and specialists.
6. Review of the Appointing process to determine opportunities for efficiencies and further digitalisation.
7. Provide support to the Central Appointing Team generally as well as for both the Service Secretaries’ Meetings and Senior Appointments Committee Essential competencies   SC Selection Process   Selection filtered to boarding  Additional information   Professional Effectiveness - Requires broad knowledge of Defence personnel, career management and appointment issues.  At OF5 level in a small Head Office team, will be expected to be both SME of a 'delivered' service and operate at strategic level. Project Management and/or Contract Management skills and experience would be advantageous
Powers of communication - Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, able to provide credible briefings up to Ministerial level and to influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders (corporate and Third Sector).
Effective intelligence - Requires the ability to deliver a range of simultaneous complex outputs and strategies.

ARRG/VERR/ADC Project tasks are not WF authorised positions.   They are a temporary liability created specifically for a task and of a short duration; up to 12 months @ up to 90 RSDs, and therefore boarding and selection for these jobs does not attract substantive promotion or granting of AHR or SUPA.   A JPAN can be rank ranged to facilitate selection in a lower rank than advertised.    However, the intent is to fill the positions in the advertised rank and in only exceptional circumstances will a lower rank be selected to run to board.
