The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Planning & Research Unit (P&R) is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Power Platform Developer to support public safety operations by delivering impactful, user-friendly applications and data solutions. You’ll be part of a mission-driven, remote-friendly team that values innovation, continuous learning, and inclusive collaboration.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to our Data & Reporting Initiative (DRI), developing high-impact, high-visibility tools that support data collection, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting capabilities across the organization. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain Power Apps solutions and ETL processes that enable our analytics environment and support data-informed decision making.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with an analytical mindset who is customer service-oriented, possesses excellent communication skills, is organized, and has a proactive attitude, ensuring a positive and seamless experience for our customers.

Your primary responsibilities would include:

  • Design, build, and maintain Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps applications that meet user needs and business objectives. You’ll collaborate with public safety staff to gather business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Develop, test, and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure accurate and secure data integration using SQL Server, APIs, and Power Platform connectors.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and manage application development throughout the full project lifecycle. You’ll coordinate with operational, technical, and analytical staff to conceptualize and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Audit, validate, and troubleshoot data issues; ensure data integrity, resolve issues, and document findings.
  • Provide technical support to users; conduct training sessions to ensure adoption and effectiveness; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Stay current on Power Platform best practices and identify opportunities to improve or streamline existing tools and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Additional qualifying experience may be considered as a substitute for education on a year for year basis.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience developing low-code applications and delivering technical solutions using Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Must pass a criminal records and employment references check.
