About the Role:
The Associate Clinical Education Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Clinical Operations training, competency assessment and continuing education programs. Additionally, the Associate Clnical Education Coordinator assists with the Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS) Trainee Program through San Jose State University. The Associate Clinical Education Coordinator must exhibit leadership skills, such as good judgement, sound analysis, decision making, ability to remain professional and composed under pressure, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the laboratory and across departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the training, competency assessment and continuing education programs for the entire Clinical Operations Team. Including:
- Developing and implementing necessary improvements to maintain effectiveness;
- Identifying initiatives for future needs;
- Ensuring that documentation meets regulatory requirements and complies with company policies;
- Providing learning opportunities to the staff;
- Create video based training modules as needed;
- Maintain and develop written procedures to document all aspects of training program;
- Accountable for maintaining and updating employee personnel training, competency and continuing education files for internal and external inspections; and
- Monitor and review staff competency and ensure all documentation is complete.
- Maintain a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of all laboratory workflows as it pertains to training;
- Provide one-on-one interactions with new hires to provide a comprehensive, consistent and effective training program;
- Conduct orientation and oversee training for new employees, contractors and interns;
- Assist in the CGMBS Trainee Program. Including:
- Maintaining and updating intern training documents for affiliated training programs; and
- Monitoring and reviewing progress of trainees and provide training documents and status reports to Supervisors,
- Provide laboratory tours, briefings and overviews to other departments;
- Work with other departments to implement proper training during launches;
- Prioritize of a positive work environment by investing time and building relationships; and
- Exhibit a dedication to team work above and beyond scheduled daily work.
Qualifications
- At least one year of Guardant Health Clinical Laboratory experience or equivalent high complexity and volume laboratory experience preferred;
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science or related field;
- Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations preferred;
- Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner;
- video editing skill preferred;
- Ability to work as part of a team; and
- Ability to proactively communicate consistently, clearly, and honestly.
Work Environment:
- Hours and days may vary depending on operational needs;
- Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary;
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, blood specimens and instruments with moving parts, heating or freezing elements and high-speed centrifugation;
- Manual and repetitive pipetting may be necessary; and
- Some lifting (up to 25 pounds) may be necessary.
Additional Information
Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
