Description
As the Director of Contracts, you’ll be the go-to expert for managing and overseeing all aspects of our government contracts. We need someone who’s highly organized, an ace negotiator, and a stickler for compliance. You’ll work closely with our program managers, legal, finance, and business development teams to support our growth and success.
Requirements
- Manage the entirety of the contracts administration function of the organization, including designing, deploying, and optimizing departmental processes and best practices.
- Lead the negotiation, administration, and management of complex government contracts and subcontracts.
- Ensure we’re always in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, especially FAR and DFARS.
- Develop and implement contract management policies and procedures that keep us on track.
- Provide guidance and support to program managers and other internal teams on all things contractual.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to keep potential issues at bay.
- Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, making sure they align with our goals.
- Handle contract modifications, amendments, and extensions as needed.
- Keep our contract files and documentation organized and up-to-date.
- Be the main point of contact for government contracting officers and representatives.
- Lead contract closeout activities, ensuring everything is wrapped up neatly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or JD is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in contract management, with a minimum of 5 years in government contracting preferred.
- Deep understanding of FAR, DFARS, and other federal regulations.
- Proven experience with Deltek Contracts and Subcontracts modules.
- Experience with Cost-type contract administration.
- Strong negotiation and contract administration skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Top-notch written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Keen attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional certifications like CFCM or CPCM are a big plus.
