Role Summary:

As a Principal Software Engineer at Boston Scientific, you will leverage your extensive experience in software and product development to lead and deliver complex solutions. With a strong foundation in computer science and a proven track record in utilizing emerging technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our future products and services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and support robust, scalable web applications and backend services across various platforms, primarily focusing on cloud technologies (AWS and Microsoft Azure).

• Utilize a wide range of technologies including Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, Spring, Hibernate, Django, Flask, and more, ensuring high performance and security.

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions, leveraging Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) for identity and access management, and mastering containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Drive Agile software development processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

• Own the solution lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring integration, quality, availability, and performance standards are met.

• Engage in vendor and process management, optimizing technology operations and contributing to transformation initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Development or a related field.

• Over 17 years of experience in software and product development, with a focus on cloud computing, application architecture, and development.

• Microsoft Azure certification, with hands-on experience in large-scale application deployment.

• Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management using Azure Active Directory.

• Expertise in Java J2EE, Python, web technologies, and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Django, Flask.

• Proficient in relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle) and development tools (Bitbucket, GitHub).

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless, and CloudFormation.

• Strong background in AGILE SDLC, process, and vendor management.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
