The Raytheon Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Business Unit is seeking an Operations Associate Director to lead the Upper Tier Missile Defense (UTMD) Portfolio within our Strategic Sensors and Precision Strike Portfolio. Reporting directly to the Strategic Sensors and Precision Strike OSC Director, you will lead a team to develop and execute strategies that enable execution of production & transition to production programs. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset and foster continuous improvement. This role involves prioritizing and executing quickly across multiple programs and suppliers, interfacing with factory and engineering stakeholders, business unit executives, program leaders, and supplier leadership. You will set the strategy and management for operations execution, while forecasting financial performance to support AOP commitments. Additionally, you will manage functional teams indirectly to ensure flawless execution and meet contract deliverables.
What You Will Do
- Leadership: Lead a team of salaried employees, providing high-quality, on-time communication and coordination with leadership teams across UTMD, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
- Generate production and sustainment plans, make/where plans, and write manufacturing sections of technical proposals.
- Planning and Development: Develop workforce plans and forecasts, employee training programs, capital plans, and control direct and indirect expenses. Ensure the enforcement of company policies and procedures.
- Financial Management: Manage ownership for EAC and budgets for Operations. Evaluate and generate risks and opportunities in alignment with programs and functions.
- Strategic Initiatives: Lead strategic initiatives and collaborate with other functions to achieve company goals and improvement targets. Implement CORE to drive lasting improvement across the portfolio.
- Talent Development: Develop talent effectively through performance and career development. Lead by example and create a culture of trust, respect, accountability, speed, collaboration, and innovation.
- Supplier Management: Work with the UTMD Supply Chain lead to Drive long-term strategies to ensure alignment with program goals, addressing cost/price/schedule challenges, and developing plans to address concerns.
- Communication: Brief senior leadership on strategies and execution progress toward achieving objectives. Support team members understanding of the importance of their impact on long-term viability and profitability.
- Organizational Development: Work hand in hand with OSC counterparts to evolve the combined Operations & Supply Chain organization. Develop staffing solutions to respond to high business agility.
- Develop AOP, LRP, and EACs for Operations.
- Align strategies and actions to execute the LRP and secure future franchise business.
- Communicate facts with supporting data and develop plans to address concerns raised by the programs.
- Build relationships with Functional and Program Managers, Directors, & Vice Presidents (or equivalents) to negotiate difficult situations both internally and externally.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience.
- Minimum 8 years experience in Program Management, Operations Leadership, Finance, and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience using manufacturing or enterprise planning tools such as MRP (Kinaxis/ SAP/PRISM).
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
