Senior Software Engineer (Chattanooga, TN)(Mult Pos)

Job Responsibilities

• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems.
• Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
• Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
• Develops and implements program/system test plans. Devises data verification methods and standard system procedures.
• Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
• May conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and support management in budgeting and purchasing efforts.
• Acts as expert technical resource to development staff in all phases of the development and implementation process.

Job Qualifications Education

• Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent years experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, will accept one year of technical experience for each year of requested college education in addition to the experience requirements.

Experience

• 5 years experience with Kafka and API Connect.
• 5 years experience with development, code review, testing, defect fixes, and production releases.
• 5 years experience creating and updating design patterns according to current industry trends.
• 5 years experience ensuring effective communication between onshore and offshore resources.
• 4 years experience assisting product owners in creating user stories and preparing planning forecasts.
• 4 years experience as technical lead for integration solution development.
• 1 year experience with IT concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards.

Skills\Certifications

• Expertise with middleware, message brokers, APIs, and microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.
• Understanding of data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices.
• Strong understanding of business requirements.
• Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

HOURS: 40 hours per week (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM); Mon– Fri.
