Day (United States of America)The General Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the daily operations of the finance team, including exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounting and other Finance related tasks.This internship is ideal for a college student looking to gain real life work experience. We understand that education comes first, which is why we offer a flexible weekly schedule based around your class times, homework and exams.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Upload journal entries prepared by colleagues, verifies back up is appropriate prior to uploading2. Prepares reconciliations of various trial balance accounts (non-complex), follows up on reconciling items in a timely manner.3. Assists in review of expense reports, ensuring proper documentation is submitted4. Adheres to record retention policies5. Assists in audit preparation of audit requests (if applicable)6. Pulls support for various filings, as applicable7. Ability to trace a transaction through the general ledger to sub systems8. Willingness to learn general ledger system9. Prepares daily, weekly, monthly Accounting and Finance reports/files as needed.10. Is responsible for work, maintains tracker for accountability11. Assists Accounts payable with invoicing and following up.12. Assist AP with supplier statements13. Assist AP with OCR system review14. Organize a financial filing system that is easily accessible.
Education/Skills/Knowledge:
- In pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or healthcare related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
- Collaborates: Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
- A strong sense of honesty and integrity required
- High degree of accountability and effective time management
- Effective time management
Monday through Friday day shift.
Ideally looking for someone a minimum of 20 hours a week or more.
Will consider for Spring and Fall semesters or Summer break.
This internship is primarily on-site in Weymouth, MA.
