Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Manager, Institutional Giving will join a small but dynamic team to help raise more than $3.5 million annually from individuals, events, foundations, and corporations. corporate sponsors to support the organization's mission. This position is responsible for identifying new revenue streams from institutional partners and grant opportunities. As a skilled communicator and project manager, they will work closely with the CDO to set and meet ambitious annual institutional giving goals, manage and grow existing foundation and corporate funding, identify and pursue new funding opportunities, and build the overall institutional giving portfolio. This role is crucial for ensuring the organization's financial sustainability and ability to carry out its mission effectively.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

Grant Writing and Project Management (40%)  

• Craft compelling grant proposals and applications that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact to potential institutional donors.
• Create standardized templates for grant proposals to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Curate and update a repository of approved language for proposals and program-related pitch materials.
• Maintain a library of standard supplemental materials for grant submissions.
• Facilitate data requests necessary for grant reporting.
• Establish review processes and timelines for each grant report project to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Maintain a grants management calendar to track deadlines and ensure timely completion of interim and final reports.

Prospect Research and Portfolio Growth (40%)

• Conduct prospect research to identify new institutional funding opportunities.
• Cultivate pathways for introductions to potential institutional donors.
• Conduct prospect research on corporate sponsorship opportunities to diversify funding streams.
• Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential institutional donors through regular communication, meetings, and events.
• Working closely with program staff to understand funding needs and priorities, and aligning fundraising efforts with programmatic goals.

Financial Management and Gift Processing (20%)

• Manage the financial aspects of institutional giving, including budgeting and forecasting for the portfolio.
• Oversee gift processing procedures, ensuring accurate recording and acknowledgment of donations.
• Collaborate with finance to reconcile grant income and expenditures.
