Job Description:
The Senior Director, Accounting UUG, is a strategic financial leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the division's accounting function. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Accounting, this position provides strong leadership and direction to the divisional accounting team, ensuring financial health, accuracy, and compliance of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team. This role requires a driven individual with good understanding of technical skills around base accounting, great communication skills, the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders/physician practice leadership, and overall natural curiosity with the desire to continue to learn. The Senior Director of Accounting will oversee a team of [8-15] professionals. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop strong working and collaborative relationships with our practice leadership to both assist the practices as well as hold them accountable for proper accounting processes/financial reporting
Regularly work with practice and operations leadership to understand and resolved business issues and opportunities
Work with internal FP&A team to understand and communicate business trends
Present financial and accounting matters for the division to the Financial leadership and other executives
Work with Corporate Accounting on implementation of new accounting standards, processes, or directives
Work with Corporate Accounting to oversee proper, timely and consistent balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure the quality and integrity of financial statements
Ensure the timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial information (P&L and B/S) to the practices
Identify and implement process improvements to overhaul, optimize, and consistently improve the monthly close cycle
Participate in M&A activity and integration, reengineering and special projects with a specific focus on ensuring the accuracy of all related accounting transactions
Coordinate divisional financial statement reporting and review with the FP&A team and operational leaders on a monthly basis
Hiring, training and development of staff
Assist with performance evaluations and recommend merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions
