HVAC Technician

Job Description

HVAC Technician performs diagnostic tests, repairs, replaces and installs air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, heating, hydraulic pneumatic, hydraulic and all energy center equipment including for the Health Center. In doing so, maintains the building automation systems by continual updates on the database. Position requires a working knowledge of the Boiler Room and all associated equipment.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Pay based on applicable experience; starting at $23.87

Responsibilities

All other duties as assigned., Maintains and repairs all air conditioning systems, but not limited to air handling units, electric motors, window units and large chilled water units, including pneumatic, electric, electronic or digital controllers., Maintains a positive working relationship with all levels of Health Center and department personnel., Operates Building Automation System. In doing so, interprets data gathered, calibrates sensors, transducers, multiplex panels and control units to set up limit and alarm points indicating problems or potential problems that could lead to shutdown of medical equipment and/or patient and employee discomfort. , Perform general maintenance duties in the Health Center as required., Provides coverage of Boiler Room shifts on an “as needed” basis when assigned., Regularly inspects refrigerating machinery to determine if functioning properly and makes necessary repairs. In doing so, checks and calibrates refrigeration controls and thermostats in order to regulate flow of refrigerant to maintain required temperatures and desired degree of compression ensuring adherence to all building and refrigeration codes., Supports and is involved in the Health Center’s continuous quality improvement efforts designed to increase patient outcomes, increase patient satisfaction and improve the utilization of the Health Center’s human, capital and physical resources.
