Lead Teacher

Purpose:

To provide support, assistance and supervision to the pre-school program in accordance with
company procedures and state regulations

Qualifications:

Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug
Screenings
Must possess a valid Driver's License which meets company standards for approved
driver status
Must possess basic computer skills
High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location. (Minimum of a CDA
higher required)
A minimum of two years of experience in early childcare and classroom education

Essential Functions

Supervise assigned education staff including volunteers and substitute teachers
Responsible for the health and safety of all children in assigned classrooms including,
but not limited to; changing diapers, toileting, preparing bottles and/or food and feeding
at meals and other times
Prepares and posts lesson plans on a weekly basis or as required
Responsible for attending all departmental, staff, lead teacher, and/or parent meetings
Responsible for classroom cleanliness and organization
Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job
entails direct care of adults and children receiving services. Employees are required to
communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care,
supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate
in English including medical terminology.
Perform all other duties as assigned
