As a Security Officer – Retail Bike Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents through regular bike patrols and a strong visible presence. You will interact with the public, provide exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly to support a welcoming environment. - Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal guidelines and client protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location, including both the business interior and its perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
- Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or incidents to the appropriate personnel according to established procedures.
- Assist in controlling access to restricted areas within the location and monitor entrances and exits as required.
- Engage with the public in a professional manner, providing assistance or information as needed while maintaining a visible presence.
- Support Allied Universal and client staff during incidents or emergencies, following all site-specific instructions and protocols.

Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to ride a bike for extended periods of time is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
