About the role

Rabbi and Senior Jewish Educator

North Carolina Hillel

Role Overview

North Carolina Hillel is looking for its first statewide Rabbi and Senior Jewish Educator to enrich the lives of Jewish students and shape the future of Jewish life across the 8 campuses of NC Hillel. As a visionary educational and spiritual leader, the Rabbi will create a cohesive Jewish educational vision for the organization and deepen the quality of our students’ experiences with Hillel. They will create imaginative spaces for Jewish learning and modern engagement with Jewish text through co-facilitation of learning fellowships and pioneering new educational opportunities. The rabbi works in collaboration with our student engagement team to embrace pluralism in reaching Jewish students of every background and empowers students to lead through NC Hillel’s student-led, staff-supported ethos. It is preferred that this role will be based in the Triangle to be accessible to the entire state. The expectation is that the rabbi’s time will be divided proportionally to address the statewide educational vision and programming, and the number of students served by each of our campuses.

We envision this role as a senior professional working under the supervision of the Managing Director.  This role values mutuality and reciprocity, focusing on collaboration and balanced partnerships on our deeply collaborative team.
