The Production Lead shall be responsible for overseeing team members and ensuring an efficient operation in achieving business targets. Provides leadership and line management to the team, coordinates their workloads, provides support to ensure that the team delivers, monitors and resolves issues and ensures production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met to meet the requirements of the customer.This position reports to the Production Area Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates resources to ensure they are applied in an efficient and effective manner to support the delivery, quality and safety requirements
- Ensures team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and meet quality standards
- Ensures full adherence to 6S (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, always Sustain) practices
- Ensures equipment is within calibration standards and all systems are functioning correctly prior to the any start on the build
- Ensures that the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed
- Ensures achievement of production throughput against stated capacity targets
- Ensures the team are aware of day-to-day targets and responsibilities
- Ensures required data is capture in a timely manner, with accuracy, to ensure proper traceability by using manufacturing tools like: Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Jira Tickers or spread sheets
- Follows scrap process standards to dispose of non-conforming material in a timely manner
- Communicates roadblocks to the production area manager that may impede meeting customers’ demands, such as product faults due to quality assurance or training on important safety regulations
- Collects hazardous or non-hazardous waste, sorts them into the correctly labeled barrels or other containers and transfers them to the appropriate collection areas
- Support on maintaining training record for each team member to ensure proper performance on each station
- Maintains information and collects data using computer software, as main tool in a proper manner, to ensure that information collected is updated properly
- Collaborates with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities
- Provides support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team
- Maintains close communication with NPI and engineering groups to support implementation of new processes
- Provide product expertise within team, and respond to operator queries
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical fields with an emphasis on testing of electronic devices
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates of Science, Bachelor of Science or similar certification is highly preferred
- Highly refined verbal and written communication skills
