MEP Project Engineer II

SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced MEP Project Engineer II with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Project Engineer will review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons
- Implement pre-construction quality plan and obtain/maintain construction permits
- Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Non-Conformance Report
- Develop equipment coordination matrices for source sizing, compatibility, and control
- Manage, create, and distribute contract documents and lead 3-D coordination process
- Establish handling procedures for electronic documents and incorporate project closeout processes
- Manage testing and inspection processes, implement three-phase inspection system, and assist in commissioning
- Manage submittals, expedite to align with project schedule, and coordinate subcontractor details
- Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders, determine alternative work methods, and ensure safety and compliance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
- Minimum three years of construction experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
- Current driver's license
- Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks
- Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
- Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project, and web applications
- Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Active listening skills and effective communication
- Ability to travel up to 100%

The base pay range for this role is $91,100 MIN - $123,000 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
