Associate System Manager

Do you want to help maintain and develop the critical systems supporting our ways of working in Global IT in Bavarian Nordic? We are looking for an Associate System Manager with technical flair to manage and maintain the systems that enable a structured, efficient, and compliant IT operations and development processes.

About the role

As an Associate System Manager, you will play a key role in our IT organization, ensuring our core systems run smoothly and drive efficient processes and collaboration across the organization. You will be responsible for both daily operations and driving improvements, working closely with IT colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day administration, maintenance, and user support for ServiceDesk Plus (our IT Service Management system), and MS Azure DevOps
• Driving and configuring system changes to ensure effectiveness and compliance
• Keeping system documentation accurate and up-to-date
• Implementing system changes independently or with technical support
• Collaborating with the IT department and with stakeholders across the company to align systems with organizational needs

About our IT Governance & Compliance team

You will be joining the IT Governance & Compliance team, a group of nine skilled professionals responsible for setting direction, maintaining governance frameworks, and providing hands-on support across three key areas: IT Service Management, IT Portfolio Management, and IT Compliance.

The broader IT department consists of almost 70 dedicated colleagues based in Denmark, the US, Switzerland, and Germany and covering all aspects of IT Development & Operations.

Your base will be at our headquarters in Hellerup (Greater Copenhagen) and you will report directly to the Senior Manager, IT Compliance & Governance.

Are you our next IT System pioneer?

To succeed in this role, we expect you to bring:

• Experience in a similar role, such as Application Manager, System Manager, or Service Manager
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or IT (field of study is not crucial)
• Hands-on experience with ITIL framework. ITIL certification is a plus
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Technical flair and genuine interest in system configuration
• Experience in Life Science, Med Tech or Pharma industry is an advantage
• Familiarity with agile development processes and agile principles is also a plus
